I live in North America’s Pacific Northwest and am sometimes a writer and poet. For a long time I kept what I wrote in a plastic box. I rarely let anyone see what I wrote and did not read my works to anyone. Finally, I looked at everything in the box. I threw out a lot of stuff. Much of what I threw out was, as one friend called it, “sentimental bullshit (SBS).” She was right, but not about all of it. SBS has it’s place but I needed to say “yes” to some that wasn’t, at least not entirely, and “no” to some that was, and for good. After that, I realized that the plastic box wasn’t helpful. It was just a black hole. I needed a new box, and this is it. Thank you for coming to my site.
“Cascadia” is a regional name for the area surrounding the Cascade range of mountains in the northwestern United States extending up to southern Alaska. It includes the great volcanos of Kulshan (Baker), Ti’Sqaq’ (Rainier), Pah Do (Adams), Suek (St. Helens), Wy’East (Hood), and Uytaahkoo (Shasta).

All site header photos are my own. One is of the Fremont Lookout, overlooking fog enshrouded Berkeley and Grand Park meadows on Ti’Sqaq, or Tahoma (AKA Mt. Rainier). The photo at the top of this page is one I took from the Fremont lookout platform looking down into those lovely parklands that are hidden in the mists of that header photo. All header photos are taken within the Pacific northwest, in its mountains, coastlines, and rivers.

HI Tom, You beat me to the “follow” punch. I was noodling about on your site last night enjoying your work but neglected to click the button. So I’ve clicked and look forward to more of your poetry.

Susanne: I enjoy your sense of humor (something I lack too often in my own stuff) and your style – experimental and vibrant. I do look forward to more from you. Thanks.

Dear Tom: You have shared some lovely poetry friend. Most of us are too close or too involved with our own writing to fully appreciate it, and the many aspects that can touch another human being. I hope to spend more time with your poems later, and share them with my wife. Peace to you good man.
Keep writing poet,
